ISO 9002

In 2001, the Hospital was awarded the ISO 9002 (International Standardisation Organisation) certificate - perhaps the only one in Mumbai and Maharashtra to have such certification. This certification is awarded only when a hospital's clinical, diagnostic, administrative and support services conform to the ISO standards.

Approved Blood Bank

The Hospital's Blood Bank is approved by the Food and Drug Authority, an institution recognised by the Ministry of Health, India. Open 24 hours a day, the service provides safe blood from volunteer donors, tested routinely for Malaria, HIV, Hepatitis B and C.

Internal And External Quality Controls

For precision and accuracy in reporting, the Hospital laboratory undergoes internal and external quality control programmes. The latest Christian Medical College, Vellore, Quality Audit has ranked the Prince Aly Khan Hospital pathology laboratory 7 th among all - India group of 452 participating labs. The annualised results of the External Quality Audits of the Pathology Laboratory for 2004, EM-QASz-Erba Mannheim, Germany has awarded the PAKH lab grade "A".

The hospital is accessed by people from all sections of society and all faiths. Those unable to pay for treatment are eligible to receive assistance through a variety of subsidies or through the hospital's patient welfare programme.
