Inpatient Paediatrics

The paediatric ward consists of 10 beds. All the rooms in the paediatric ward includes: air conditioning, nurse call system, cardiac arrest alarm system, piped oxygen, refrigerator, TV and telephone.

Children in need of critical care are admitted in the intensive care unit where they are managed by the paediatric consultants and the intensivists. The intensive care unit has the capacity of taking care of the sick neonates who may require ventilator support. The nursery is located with the labour and delivery ward.

Well Child Clinic

The well child clinic operates with the antenatal clinic where nurses check the babies and administer the Ministry approved immunizations for Tuberculosis and Polio, Diphtheria-Pertussis-Tetanus with Hepatitis B Virus and Haemophilus Influenza type B (DPT/HBV/HiB), Measles (free for babies born at the hospital), Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR), and Pneumococcal Conjugate vaccination.

Paediatric Outpatient Clinic

In this clinic the full time consultants see patients on a walk-in basis. The most common paediatric problems seen include viral illnesses, asthma, gastroenteritis, common skin conditions, as well as children in need of HIV care.

Two visiting doctors are available for the consultation on Sundays and public holidays.
