Kisii Medical Centre

The vision of the Aga Khan Health Services is to be the acknowledged premier healthcare system in East and Central Africa, one of whose strengths is to make the services accessible to as many people as possible in this region. Towards achieving this goal, the Kisii Medical Clinic was officially opened on 24 May 2005.

Kisii town is situated 110km south of Kisumu, to which it is connected by a tarmac road. The area is highly and densely populated, one of the factors that led to its selection for this pilot project. The medical clinic is staffed by two shifts of a resident medical officer, an experienced medical laboratory technician, registered nurse, a pharmaceutical technologist and receptionist. These core staffs have all previously been based at the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu and are well versed in the Hospital's quality policy and practice. They work under the direct supervision of Kisumu.

Services available include general medical services and high quality diagnostic services. Specialist services on specific days are held by consultants from Kisumu including ANC, ENT and FNA clinics.
